Bhutan Cricket Propose to refine Bajo and Lekithang ground

Officials from Bhutan Cricket met with the Principal of Punakha Central School and Bajo Higher Secondary School yesterday for a possible collaboration and understanding on future cricket development in the school and district at large. During the meeting, areas of development, school tournaments and related activities, the future of cricket, and other prevailing issues were discussed.

The respective Principals presented full support to cricket and agreed to collaborate in terms of developing their respective school grounds for cricketing purposes. This under-signing between Bhutan Cricket and the two schools will enhance further development of the sport in terms of conducting school tournaments, inter-school and inter-district tournaments, coaching, and numerous other activities.

Over the years, Punakha and Wangdue districts have produced players who have represented Bhutan at international stages. The record shows Punakha has 4389 and Wangdue 4608 students actively participating in cricket programs conducted by Bhutan Cricket.

Tandin Wangchuk is the Press Officer for Bhutan Cricket. Played for Bhutan U19 to Senior team for a decade and previously worked as a Reporter/Copy Writer with Kuensel, the national newspaper of Bhutan.
