Bhutan Women’s coach Sanjeevan feels that his side can get into World T20 qualifier shortly.
Bhutan women’s without ICC World T20i rank (https://www.icc-cricket.com/rankings/womens/team-rankings/t20i ) are competing against some of the top 30 rank countries in the ongoing Thailand Women’s T20 Smash in Bangkok.
Bhutan women’s team has already lost two matches against Hong Kong and Indonesia but comparing to the previous performances Bhutanese women’s are extra serious about the team shows this time. Dechen Wangmo stood Women of the match against Hong Kong for her 3 wickets and 14 runs.
Bhutan have had an up and down in Bangkok. They could have beat Hong Kong, but lost by 3 wickets in the opening match. Indonesia currently rank 22 in the world remained restricted for 104/4 in 20 overs in today’s match at AIT ground. Bhutan were all-out in 54 runs.
“I believe my team is daring and we can beat any side if we tug things together and play some good cricket. They are still lack with some confidence. But if we think of improving individual performance, I am sure every game will become a great contest,” said Yeshey Wangmo the team captain.
The big problem for Bhutan has been batting on turf but we have seen some exceptional batting performances from seniors in last two matches.
Bhutan still to play two more matches against Myanmar and Thailand. Their experience players like Dechen Wangmo, Yeshi Choden and Yeshey Wangmo will perhaps have to ponder good performances to secure success in the tournament.
