BCCB elects former head coach as new CEO | Bhutan Cricket Council Board

The Bhutan Cricket Council Board in its first executive board meeting elected former head coach, Damber S Gurung as its new chief executive officer in Thimphu, today. The appointment came after serving CEO, Jigme N. Norbu, officially resigned from the post.

The newly constituted executive board members, and development committee members were offered tashi khaddar by the BCCB.

At the board meeting, new president for the BCCB and director for Umpires and Scorers, and director for Women’s Cricket were also appointed. The executive board meeting re-elected Thinley Wangchuk Dorji as the cricket board’s president.

Among the development committee members, long serving umpire, Dorji Loday, was appointed as the director of Umpires and Scorers. Deki Yangzom, a teacher, who also worked with the BCCB as a coach, umpire, and scorer was appointed as the director of Women’s Cricket.

At the meeting, the outgoing CEO was recognized as the pillar of Bhutan Cricket Council Board by the members present. The 2019 cricket development budget was also approved during the meeting along with presentation of the five-year strategic development plan by the newly elected CEO.

The executive board members will meet four times in a year. The next meeting is scheduled for mid-January 2019.
